family reunion meets aussie christmas

No snow is falling. No sweaters are needed and no smiling snowman greets you along your way.

This year's festive season is nothing like anything we are used to.

December came as fast as always. Unlike other years, we were not busy organising heaps of gifts, hustling in peak season at work or handling the cold weather in training. The last months of 2023 were filled with a final big block of training, two competitions in Melbourne and some first days where homesickness hit us.

On the 6th of December, not a single soul spent a thought about Santa's Day. Swiss Christmas traditions obviously do not make their way down under. Even if nobody knows about these things, we get to experience a whole new way of spending the festive days.

The best thing about it?
Sharing this special time with our parents and our brother who made their way to Australia. It is save to say, that having them with us after months abroad is better than any christmas present. As a group of five, we are currently road tripping from Melbourne towards the australian outback.

At the end of the day, Christmas should not be about the fanciest presents, most expensive food or eyecatching decoration. It's about being with your beloved ones and letting them feel the importance their presence has to your life.

With this in mind, we wish you all a merry Christmas being surrounded with the people you love most.
