the mysterious last day of december

Year after year, the last day of December starts a wave of gratitude posts on the internet.
People have been celebrating the ending of the year since many years. Sharing your personal thankfulness on social media is something quite new however.

What is that makes people feel more grateful on this specific day?

Is it the recent festive days? Or is it because we tend to spend a lot of time with our beloved ones? Must be both of it.

New year‘s eve carries a little magic in it. Dreams may seem closer, people tend to wish for fairy tales and get overwhelmed by the rapidly passing of time.

We are convinced that the peak of gratitude is feeling grateful for little things in everyday life. Not only during one day of the year but everyday.
Nevertheless, the end of a year does remind us on how fast the time flies.

During hectic and busy weeks, time can easily loose its meaning. We forget about it and all of a sudden we realize that another year has passed. Therefore we do like the idea of quickly pausing and looking back before starting a new year.

To keep it short, 2023 meant change for us.
With leaving abroad we did not only leave our home.

We left behind everything we knew, to start a new chapter and finally focus on what currently matters the most to us.

Chasing dreams, that many people can’t understand can be challenging from time to time. On the other side of the globe, we met people who see those dreams and support us in reaching them.

This new surrounding is what we are the most thankful for this year.

We feel truly grateful and do not take the new people we met, the ones we already knew or our health for granted. 2023 was the result of a long ride and will always have a special meaning to us.

It is on us, to keep all of this up in the next 365 days, before we sit down again on the next 31st of December.
