Here we are.
Down Under no longer is a dream. We have arrived.

Full-packed with 40kg luggage per person we await a taxi to our first accommodation. Patiently waiting, one after the other taxi drives by.
None of them is big enough for the baggage of two triathletes.

The sun slowly sets as we approach evening. Some phone calls and explanations later, we finally find ourselves sitting in a bulky taxi.
Palm trees and a tropical humid breeze welcome us to our new home.

The day has been long and exhausting. We woke up in Asia and are about to fall asleep in Australia. Distance is relative if you dare to take the path.

We spend our first days in Cairns, a city located in the north of Queensland. Australian kitchen seems to suit our culinary preferences much better than the asian one. (If not yet read - check out one blog post earlier to understand… ;)

We feast our way through Açai Bowls, cold brewed coffee, smashed avo on toast and aussie grown fruits.

But not only the food is amazing.

It is the vibe, the people, the sea and the stunning beaches that fascinate us during these first days.

Over the moon with how this journey started, we pack our things and take a "Greyhound" Bus. One of the most common ways to travel along the east coast of Australia. After a pitstop in Townsville, we arrive in Airlie Beach. The gateway to the whitsunday islands. On a day trip we get to go on one of those islands called Whiteheaven Beach.

Without any doubt the most beautiful and scenic place we have ever seen.
- Undescribable.

A tiring 18hours bus trip later we are now at Sunshine Coast, our destination of training.

Off-Season and holidays were great, physically and mentally.
But now: Back to business.
